Weekend Lunch Option: Soccer Taco
Clinton St and Bay St in Red Hook
Every weekend in the summer, from around noon till dusk, a bunch of food vendors park their trucks and carts around this soccer field in Red Hook. It is extremely delicious, probably one of the best tacos I’ve had. Above is a photo of Fred’s Huarache ($6, choice of meat/veggie filling). He’s still working on it.
Your Soccer Taco To-Do List:
• Taco (any kind you want. I like the chorizo best. Two for $6)
• Watermelon, Pineapple drink; Lemonades, Limeades; Get the big cup! ($2-5)
• Ceviche ($6-7, good for sharing)
• Papusas (I highly recommend getting the loroco flower one, 2 for $5-6)
You can also get a grilled corn if you want.

Above: Chorizo taco with pineapple drink. I ate the other one before I rememered that I was a food blogger and should take a photo.

Soccer Taco Tips:
• If you live in Brooklyn, take the F or G to Smith & 9th; Otherwise take the free Ikea boat over (leaves from Wall St every 20 minutes or so). Ikea is also where a free and clean bathroom is.
• Always ask for a fork and napkins
• Eat some tacos before and after you take a dip in the Red Hook pool (free, bring a lock and a towel) conviently located across the street
There, that’s all you need to know. Get out there and enjoy before the summer is over.
