Joe’s Busy Corner
at Driggs and North 7th
Sometimes our lunch option involves bringing a sandwich back to the studio so we can work in front of our keyboards. That was my exact plan 2 days ago when I bought this Godfather Sandwich from Joe’s Busy Corner for $6. Unfortunately for the sandwich I had to delay eating it until today. So how does it taste after two long days of refrigeration? Not to bad. There is a ton of meat on this thing mostly salami, covered in capers and bell peppers with some cheese in the middle. Veggies include lettuce and tomato which and were unsurprisingly soggy and gross, but soaking in the caper’s sauce with salami mitigated the sogginess by infusing them with meat flavor. The bread was still crusty on the outside and soggy with spicy sauce on the inside. Portions were out of control, I can imagine ordering this sandwich eating half of it for lunch and saving the other half for dinner (or because it saves so well eating it for lunch the next day)
Conlusion: Even after sitting a while this is a pretty good sandwich. The huge portions could enable a double meal which makes it a really good deal.
Extra Conclusion: The coffee and iced coffee from Joe’s is terrible.
